04.23.17 Worship Confessional

imagesPilgrimage is an ancient practice in need of modern discovery – a physical, emotional, and spiritual journey that goes onward, upward and outward. Pilgrimage is a spiritual practice that reminds us of our sacred purpose – to grow closer to God. Whether we choose to believe it, we are all on a journey. The trail winds and wiggles through this world, often obscured from view, but life’s deepest questions are answered along its gravel. (Christian George)

As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them. When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. (Luke 24:28-30)
