02.14.16 Worship Confessional

Slide63Yesterday we continued our series, “Friends: Doing Life Together” with an inter- generational worship gathering. Four times a year, our Director of Children, Student and Family Ministry, Amber Steele, creates an interactive, hands-on experience that engages the youngest to the oldest in the worship of the Most High God.

Our theme was “Friendship Starts Here” and through a creative drama, we explored the Ruth and Naomi narrative. The community then divided into groups (named after various groupings of animals like a troubling of goldfish, a crash of rhinos, a congregation of  alligators) and in their groups, they formed a starter for friendship bread and also created a recipe for friendships of character.

How does your faith community connect the different generations in worship?

Here is our complete worship flow:

  • Friend of God (Gungor)
  • Song of Hope (Robbie Seay Band)
  • Responsive Reading
  • God and God Alone (Passion)
  • Announcements and Offering
  • Message (Friendship Starts Here)
  • How He Loves (John Mark McMillan)

Stay connected…
