12.06.15 Worship Confessional

imagesCenturies ago, Pascal, the great mathematician and philosopher who came to a deeply-formed faith, offered a famous “wager,” and in fact we still speak about “Pascal’s wager” when we understand something very important is at stake, like the very existence of God. As we come into the days of December, singing the songs of Advent and Christmas, we step into the history of that wager, placing our own hearts and minds on the line— offering to God and the world our truest and deepest convictions about what matters, and what doesn’t matter —confessing that we still believe that God has come in the flesh, and that we are not alone, living on the unvisited planet, lost in the cosmos. (Steve Garber, The Washington Institute for Vocation, Faith and Culture)

  • O Come, O Come Emmanuel (Paul Baloche version)
  • Announcements and Offering
