05.25.14 Worship Confessional

Jonah-RohrbacherThis past Sunday we continued our series, “Jonah: The Outrageous Love of God” by exploring Jonah 1:17-2:10.  As you read through Jonah’s prayer from inside the belly of the fish, it is interesting to note both what Jonah says and does not say. Much of Jonah’s theology is accurate and yet there seems to be a disconnection between what he thinks, says and does. For instance, while Jonah doesn’t seem willing to extend grace to the people of Nineveh, he is quick to look for God’s grace when his life in on the line. How about you? How quick are you to extend grace and mercy to others?

Perhaps the most important verse in Jonah is “Salvation comes from the Lord” (Jonah 2:9). Right now, where do you need the saving power of God in your life? What about the people around you – how can you pray for God’s power to be released into their lives? And how can you be an instrument of God’s salvation? Here is our complete worship flow:

  • The Earth Is Yours (Gungor)
  • Forever Reign (Hillsong)
