3.18.12 Worship Confessional

“It was not the Jews that kept the Sabbath, it was the Sabbath that kept the Jews.”(Ahad Ha’am)

This morning as we continued our series “Engage,” we explored the spiritual practice of Sabbath. Have you ever taken time to compare and contrast the two Old Testament passages that instruct the Hebrews to keep the Sabbath? Take a few moments to read Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 – I would love to hear your thoughts on these two readings of the Sabbath command.

Here are three Sabbath reflection questions:

  • What role does Sabbath have in the life of a Christ-follower?
  • How do you practice Sabbath?
  • What motivates your practice of Sabbath?

Our complete worship flow for the morning looked like this:

  • Search My Heart (Hillsong)
  • Reading of Psalm 117
  • Your Grace Is Enough (Matt Maher)
  • As It Is in Heaven (Matt Maher)
  • The Lord’s Prayer
  • The Same Love (Paul Baloche)
  • Faith at Home Review
  • Announcement and Offerings
  • Message: Engage Sabbath
  • Reprise: The Same Love

You can learn what other communities of faith experienced this weekend in worship at The Worship Community.
