7.24.11 Worship Confessional

After spending the past two Sundays in Uganda, it was good to gather once again with our community of faith. During the next week, I will be posting some reflections on my experience in Kampala (including a worship confessional from my Sunday with Nakawa Pentecostal Church) here and I hope you will check back later and enjoy some of my pictures and stories.

Uganda is known as “the Pearl of Africa” and this morning I used Jesus’ words from Matthew 13 to frame my reflections:

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it” (Matthew 13:45-46).

If you would like to learn more, you can listen to my message, The Pearl.

Our musical set included:

  • Crash This Place (Matthew Reed)
  • Our God is Mercy (Benton Brown)
  • As It Is in Heaven (Matt Maher)
  • Your Love Is Strong (Jon Foreman)
  • How Great Is Our God (Chris Tomlin)

You can learn what other communities of faith experienced this weekend at The Worship Community.

Stay connected…

  1. Thanks for the post. I only know two of the songs on your list but will add the others to my ‘look’ list. I am glad we have this blog carnival to share ideas.
